UNO One Word Project

UNO One Word Project The One Word Project is a celebration of people by displaying the diversity of cultures, individuals, and ideas that unite us as members of the community.

The One Word Project asks you to identify one word that could replace your name. This word should not only define you, but expresses your inner "why." Let this word speak to where you've come from, where you are, and where you may be going. Once you've chosen your word, we also ask you to write a personal reflection as to why you've selected this particular word and to discuss it with close friend

s and family members. Intentionality has been laced throughout the One Word Project, which is guided by research in both leadership and the first-experience literature. Informed by Richard Boyatzis' (2001) Intentional Change Model and Leadership Identity Development Theory (Komives et al. 2001), One Word was designed to assist individuals in expanding their level of self-awareness by asking them to focus on the differences between their real and aspirational identities. One Word strives to develop self-awareness in individuals since that has also been recently identified as a component of effective leadership (Goleman, D, Boyatzis, R. & Mckee, A., 2002).
