Reminder NO CLASS TONIGHT 10/12.
A wonderful quote I read today by Wilma Mankiller the First Female Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation:
"The secret of our success is that we never, never give up."

Take time today to consider the many beautiful ways that Indigenous People have shown resilience and wisdom despite the horrific ways they were treated. It is somber to consider, yet absolutely necessary.

See you all at class on Wednesday!

Student spotlight:
Today, Zander and his dad, Justin completed a 20 mile hike for Zander's hiking merit badge in Scouts. They started in Bellevue this morning at 10:30am and just got home! Probably tired, hungry and ready for a shower but with a great sense of accomplishment. Way to really show perseverance out there! (For those who may not know, it was over 80° in Omaha today!)

Thanks to all our students, friends and families who contributed to our Pet Supply Drive in August, honoring Abby and her love for animals. All items were delivered to the Town and Country Animal Rescue this afternoon. We may not be able to help every pet in need, but today we helped several!

Zander not only passed his gup test to be promoted to green belt recently, but he also earned the rank of First Class in Scouts. He earned 5 merit badges: Citizenship in the World, Metalwork, Space Exploration, Climbing, and Truck Transportation.

At OTSD we celebrate our students' accomplishments both on and off the mat. We firmly believe the codes and tenets we emphasize in World Tang Soo Do translate best when we utilize them in every aspect of life. Congratulations Zander on both of your promotions!
