For 100 years, Catholic Charities has stood alongside our neighbors in times of need. This Hunger Action Day, we’re reminded that every bag of groceries, every donated item, every volunteer hour, and every helping hand makes a difference.

In 2025, Catholic Charities of Omaha distributed more than 3 million pounds of food and essential supplies through our two Market Choice Pantries and Mobile Pantries to our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Through our food access programs and generous community partners, we work every day to ensure individuals and families have access to nutritious food and the resources they need to thrive.

Together, we can continue nourishing our neighbors, strengthening our community, and building hope for generations to come.

On August 29, 2026, we celebrated 100 years of Catholic Charities of Omaha at our Century of Hope Gala. We had the privilege of hearing the faces and voices behind 100 years, the people whose stories, service, generosity and resilience have shaped who we are today.

From those we’ve served to those who have given, volunteered, led and walked alongside us, each story is part of our Century of Hope.

Thank you to everyone who shared their story, took part in our celebration and helped make this milestone so meaningful. And to everyone who has been part of Catholic Charities’ journey over the past 100 years, thank you for helping us inspire hope, strengthen families and build brighter futures.

A special thank you to Archbishop Michael McGovern for presenting the Papal Proclamation honoring Catholic Charities’ 100th anniversary, and to Governor Jim Pillen for presenting the State Proclamation recognizing this milestone. We are grateful for their presence and for helping us mark this extraordinary moment in our history.

Here’s to the stories we’ve heard, the lives we’ve touched and the hope we’ll continue to carry forward. 💛

Thank you to the members of the National Indemnity Insurance Company's Helping Hands Group who joined us at the St. Martin de Porres Community Center to throw a pizza party and play bingo with the seniors.

We are very appreciative of the support Helping Hands offers to those we serve throughout the year and the generous spirit they have through it all!

We were grateful to have multiple student groups from Serve Boldly volunteer with us this summer. From crafts and bingo with the seniors to garden work and stocking shelves and packing food bags in our food pantries, they brought great energy and spirit to Catholic Charities of Omaha. Thank you Serve Boldly, keep up the good work!
