Urban Acres Horse Rescue "Pastures in the shadow of the city". The pastures are gone, but the little acreage in the middle of the neighborhood in North Omaha is still there.

We started rescuing and rehabilitating horses in the early '90's, and continue to do so.

Beautiful hand made 8’ pallet bench donated to Urban Acres by Lesley (Cozumel Tshirt) and Visitors/Volunteers from ILC and ODM that made it possible to get it off the back of the truck. We are going to get a lot of use out of it!

A horse was just shot in EAGLE, Nebraska. The owners are looking for someone that will haul this horse to Iowa State or K-State to have emergency surgery.

Damage from July storm. We have temporary power and all the parts needed to restore full power now we need need an affordable bid to do the repair. The lowest bid we have gotten is $600. Any electricians out there wanting to help a struggling rescue?

A couple of weeks ago, I started posting recent photos taken by visitors/volunteers from this year. Later in the evening, I lost my phone at Home Depot. It was found run over and it’s been a nightmare ever since getting things back to normal.
So, we are going to continue posting photos of visitors and animals at the rescue more often. The majority of these pictures are taken by volunteers/visitors and shared with us. They are so much better than the ones I take.

Since most of June was a blur from a lot of hours spent working on repairs along with lots of visitors, we will be posting many pictures of work done, people helping and visiting as well as some very beautiful photos sent to us. Please feel free to comment or ad pictures of your own.
