After a weather delay on the original date, HomeWoven broke ground last week on three of five new affordable single-family homes in South Omaha. We are still feeling grateful.

This milestone marks more than the start of construction. It is a step toward greater housing affordability, neighborhood reinvestment, and new pathways to homeownership for working families in our community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Your presence, encouragement, and support made the day even more meaningful.

We are especially grateful to the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture, Front Porch Investments and Pradera Construction for their investment in this project and for their continued support of affordable homeownership.

Together, we are building more than houses. We are helping build stability, opportunity, and community in South Omaha.

We’re grateful to the Nebraska Department of Economic Development for helping make this milestone possible.

Yesterday, HomeWoven broke ground on new affordable, single-family homes in South Omaha. Through support from DED’s Homeownership Production Program, eligible homebuyers may receive up to $50,000 in down payment assistance after completing approved homebuyer education and maintaining the home as their primary residence for five years.

This investment helps create real pathways to affordable homeownership, neighborhood stability, and generational opportunity in South Omaha.

Our Home Preservation Program provides homeowners with the repairs and modifications they need to stay safely in their homes, at no cost to them. Common repairs include plumbing, flooring, broken doors or windows, weatherization, HVAC and accessibility upgrades like grab bars and walk-in bath tub conversions.
