Morton Boys & Girls Club

Morton Boys & Girls Club Morton Boys & Girls Club (Panther Pack) is located inside of Morton Middle School serving as an after-school program. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more.

We offer over 40 unique weekly programs for our youth, every school-day since 2008. In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. Club programs and services promote and enhance the devel

opment of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands (BGCM) is one of the largest youth service agencies in the Omaha / Council Bluffs metro area.

- 📕❤️Every Monday and Tuesday our literary focused members show up in droves to get involved with what our Book Clubs have to offer.

- ⛺️Currently our members are reading Camp Prodigy written by Caroline Palmer which tells the story of two nonbinary kids, Tate and Eli, who navigate anxiety, identity, and performance pressure at a summer orchestra camp. With our two main protagonists being in middle school our members have taken a particular liking this story using it to help them navigate what could be looked at as some of the most impactful years of their lives.

-📖📖 Book clubs remain essential for youth because they foster a love for reading, improve literacy, and enhance social-emotional skills through peer discussion!

- 🍝Torch Club aka "The Club within the club" has been an absolute treat to be a part of. Our 6th grade members have fired off on all cylinders from its very inception and to celebrate a year of hard work and dedication we went downtown to their favorite restaurant, Spaghetti Works!

- 🗽🎉Torch Club has led the way in a plethora of our in-club movements. Some of their work includes contributing heavily to our monthly newsletter, helping revitalize our social media (IG/TikTok), helping with our two clothing donations, doing to the morning announcements, and being support staff for our Teen Late Night Celebrations.

- 🔥🔥Their future is brighter here at club because of their hard-work and dedication. We cannot wait to see what they do in Keystone soon!

Did you know Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands also offers a summer day camp?

Camp Nakomis is an action‑packed summer adventure created for youth ages 6–14 from the Omaha metro and Council Bluffs communities.⛺️

Each week brings a brand‑new theme filled with outdoor excitement, creative challenges and hands‑on fun that keeps campers engaged from start to finish. Kids spend their days canoeing, swimming, fishing, trying archery, riding pontoon boats, racing down epic slip‑and‑slides, jumping in bounce houses, heading out on field trips and tackling exciting group activities.

Whether campers join for one week or all seven, Camp Nakomis offers a safe, supportive environment where friendships grow, confidence builds and unforgettable summer memories are made.🌟

- ✂️Dust off the old magazines and grab the glue sticks and scissors. Another week is here which means there's another awesome opportunity to take our members on a journey of self discovery. For Boy's Journeys with Mr. Kevin and Mr. Tre our boys created, you guessed it, vision boards.

- ❤️❤️ They were given two options: Create a vision board based on where you see yourself today or Create a Vision board based on where you see yourself during your adult years. Wouldn't you guess it, many of the boys headed directly to the sports and or science section of their magazine.

Per our workshop in February many of our YDP's brought to the table what their teens wanted out of these events. After narrowing it down, we were able to provide Dungeons & Dragons facilitated by Ms. Lauren, Pokémon Trading Card Game Academy facilitated by local organizer Professor Mike Brett, and Esports facilitated by UNO's Esports Club!

The biggest thank you goes out to Millard Central Boys & Girls Club excellent staff for providing the space, innovation, and operational expertise to help pull this off!

- ⭐️Our success for the Month of April is highlighting Michael Conklin's body of work here at Morton Middle and Panther Pack alike. From the very start the Conklin residence has been all-in here at Panther Pack starting with his older brother Andy who is now thriving at Northwest funneling all the way to Michael and twin brother Jacob.

- 🎨🎨Having memorized our club schedules to a T both twins come very selectively to Panther Pack, but it is Michael who takes to our Art and Literature program focused days. Michael has shown an immense amount of focus inside of Arts & Crafts and Omaha Public Library to be exact! Because of his around the clock work with Mr. Kitchen as sub and program specialist, Michael has been selected to be on a billboard for Omaha Public School's Billboard of the Month program.

- 🧑‍🎓👨‍🎓Through the help of generous donor his artwork with digitally go up at the Omaha Teacher's Foundation and will be physically present at the TAC building.

- The members have asked and Mr. Kitchen has delivered!

- With the Nebraska weather finally showing some sense of regularity, ARTchery is back for our final session of the year, and Mr. Kitchen is back into program mode. The 18-year program intends on delivering on every aspect that makes a high-quality program just that! For the first session of ARTchery they're focusing familiarity with Archery itself, while highlighting the importance of safety and technique inside of program.

- Practicing safety in archery helps prevent serious injuries from sharp arrows or high-tension bowstrings, protect against equipment failure, and ensure a positive, disciplined atmosphere for all participants. Strict safety protocols—such as following whistle commands, checking gear, and maintaining controlled shooting lines—manage risks.
