We still need some volunteers for community clean-up from 9am-2pm on Saturday October 11 at Bancroft School. Food and fun people provided!

Fall cleanup is when Omaha residents can get rid of bulky items that don't fit in their cart. It's free and a joint effort between the City, Keep Omaha Beautiful inc., and the participating neighborhood organizations.

09/21/2025

Get ready for Omaha Neighborhood Fall Cleanup! Deer Park Neighborhood Association will be hosting again at Bancroft Elementary. We will be taking your bulky items (see video) from 9am-2pm.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact us through our website so we can plan for lunch! Volunteers can volunteer as your schedule allows, but we prefer if you can be at Bancroft Elementary at 8:30am for a quick safety meeting.

See you soon!

We have another hearing for a liquor license application in our neighborhood. Please see the image for more details about the hearing.

Some background on this business in our neighborhood:

This business also sits on a very busy intersection (16th & Vinton--they are the yellow building). It also sits across the street from another business that sells packaged liquor. In the past, this business has not had the same operating hours as the business across the street, and it has closed earlier in the evening. I do not know if they anticipate staying open longer after getting this license. They offer a variety of groceries and are also a butcher. They are another small business that make our neighborhood unique and have donated raffle items to the association for our National Night Out event in the past. They have been good neighbors and great businesses to patronize. It appears the business is trying to stay competitive & relevant within the business district. If you have any questions about the business, Ai suggest you go check them out and see what they offer and how you feel about this business obtaining a liquor license. You can make a public comment in favor of or against them having this license during the hearing.
