St. Luke Participates in Pride Parade: July 13, 2024

We are encouraging St. Luke individuals to come and support the Heartland Pride Parade on Saturday, July 13, either by coming to watch the parade or to walk in the parade as representatives of St. Luke. This is an additional way we can support and encourage individuals in our community who identify as LGBTQ or who have family or friends who identify as LGBTQ.

The parade is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. along Capitol Ave from 16th-10th Streets ending just past the CHI Health Center.

If you wish to walk with us in the parade
• Plan to park between 8:00-8:15 a.m. so you have time to reach our float location by 8:30.
• Paid parking can be found early at Central City Parking Garage, 217 North 17th Street, between Dodge and Capital.
• After you have parked, call or text Chris Archer for specific directions to our float. You can reach Chris at 832-655-3422.
• Individuals and families of all ages are welcome to walk with us! Plan to dress comfortably (including good walking shoes) and for the hot weather and bring a water bottle and cooling rag if you want. If you have a St. Luke shirt, please wear it, or wear your best rainbow pride gear. The parade will be done around 12:00 noon.
• If you plan to walk with us, please sign up at the link below in case we need to email you any changes prior to the parade: https://bit.ly/SLpride
• Or you can let the Church Office know you plan to walk. RSVP to [email protected] or 402-333-6886 ext. 300.

If you wish to watch the parade
• The parade starts at 10:00, but you may want to arrive much earlier to find easier parking.
• The parade route runs along Capitol Avenue, from 16th Street to 10th Street, then up toward the CHI Health Center.

Effective 07/16/2022, 988 became the nationwide 3-digit dialing code for crisis and su***de prevention. It replaces the 1-800 number that had been used by the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline. Calls to 988 from any phone in the US, either mobile or landline, will connect with the crisis/su***de prevention system where help designed specifically for someone dealing with a mental health crisis is immediately available. If you or someone you care about is struggling with mental health, know that this 3-digit line is available.
