Unlike Maudie, Dallas doesn’t do “subtle.”

One walk through Under the Skin and he was pulling us back toward the gallery for another look. Tail wagging, ears perked, and energy levels somehow even higher than when he arrived.

We can’t say exactly what caught his attention, but he seemed pretty captivated by an exhibition that explores the stories, emotions, and experiences carried beneath the surface.

Dog-approved. Human-approved. Under the Skin is on view through June 7.

Even Maudie cracked a smile.

Known around KANEKO for her mopey disposition and signature three-legged strut, Maudie took a stroll through Under the Skin and, against all odds, appeared… emotionally moved?

Maybe it’s because Under the Skin goes beyond appearances and reveals the vulnerability, tension, intimacy, and humanity carried within every body. The exhibition invites viewers to confront the stories etched beneath the surface.

Maudie gives it 4 paws up, despite only having her 3 to raise!

✨ What a night! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening reception of Arts For Me! at KANEKO — the energy in the room was electric.

Seeing student artists from Westside, Millard, and Omaha Public Schools share their work with the community was nothing short of inspiring. These young creators poured their hearts into every piece, and last night, the world got to see what happens when creativity truly has no ceiling. 🎨

✨ Tonight’s the night! Join us for the opening reception of Arts For Me! at KANEKO — free and open to the public from 4:30–6:30 pm.

Arts For Me! is an adapted arts education program giving students with intellectual and developmental challenges the tools, time, and trust to make real art. This exhibition showcases work created by students from Westside, Millard, and Omaha Public Schools during this school year.

Come meet the student artists, experience their work firsthand, and see what’s possible when creativity has no ceiling. The exhibition runs through October 18, but tonight is something special. 🎨

Gestures brings decades of Peter Millett’s sculpture together in one space, and Coloeciones de estudio de invierno ushers in Therman Statom’s radiant world of glass, color, and light.

🎨 Sunday, May 3 at 1:00 PM — Art in the Park with Peter Millett Grab some charcoal and paper and sketch alongside a sculptor. First-timers absolutely welcome.
