Last Saturday we hosted our first Deaf Centric Hospital event!

This event included role-playing exercises, where UNMC students became "patients" who seek medical information from "doctors" who are local members of the deaf community. The goal for this learning event is for students to think of solutions and resources to reduce healthcare inequities within the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Thank you to all who participated and made the event such a success. We can’t wait to continue this event for years to come😁
