Our Mission:
To Support the programming & services of the RBJH making the best environment to enhance the quality of life for all Residents. What We Do Annually
• Plan & sponsor events & activities for RBJH Residents on Holidays and Birthdays
• Provide welcome bags to new Residents
• Raised funds for major projects to enhance the lives and comfort of the residents of the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home.

RBJH residents enjoyed a delightful change of pace at teatime with a savory Passover treat featuring crisp vegetables and salami, rather than the usual sweets. The refreshing savory spread was warmly received and added a special touch to the occasion. A heartfelt thank you goes to League Offering Volunteers for the Elderly LOVE for their generosity and for providing such a delicious treat.

RBJH residents and staff felt the love at our Sweetheart Teatime, sponsored by League Offering Volunteers for the Elderly (LOVE). The afternoon featured a refreshing twist: delicious Asian meatballs served over crisp Asian coleslaw. Savory treats, smiling faces, and full hearts all around!

RBJH celebrated Hanukkah in style with a wide range of festive activities throughout the eight days. Residents enjoyed several Hanukkah concerts, including a special performance of one-of-a-kind holiday tunes by Deborah Greenblat and Marti Nerenstone, as well as a joyous annual Hanukkah party with Anna Mosenkis and donuts from Krispy Kreme sponsored by L.O.V.E. The celebration also featured over-the-top Hanukkah bingo, creative Hanukkah crafts, and a lively latke-frying party led by volunteer Michelle and Sabine, the Volunteer Coordinator. A heartwarming Hanukkah program presented by Rita Paskowitz with FJA added special meaning to an already memorable holiday.

Top Ten Blumkin Day! It is time to wander outside and bask in the sun in mid-November, letting simple pleasures guide the day. Teatime gives way to cocktails in the courtyard, while Hanukkah decorations find their places before the earth is still soft. Carefree bike rides complete a perfect day.

On Veterans’ Day, the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home honored the men and women in uniform with a special Veterans Day celebration. Guest speakers Marti Nerenstone, Army Chaplain Assistant; and James Po**ck, U.S. Marine, shared their experiences and stories of service. We proudly recognized 10 veterans who have given so much for our country. Your courage, sacrifice, and dedication have protected our freedom and shaped our nation’s history. Whether you served on land, at sea, or in the air, your commitment continues to inspire us all. Thank you to LOVE for writing and delivering cards to RBJH veterans.

The 7th-grade students at Friedel Jewish Academy recently created heartfelt New Year cards for the residents of the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home (RBJH). What made this gesture especially touching was the students’ genuine desire to reconnect with the special friends they’ve made at RBJH over the years. This simple act of kindness reflects the deep bond between generations and the lasting impact of meaningful relationships.

The Blumkin Home celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week with a series of daily events including crazy hair day, bingo contest, tropical Tuesday, delicious food and more, chaired by Michelle Alberts. We thank our fabulous RBJH nurses for taking such wonderful care of our loved ones!
