Throughout our city budget workshop series, we heard over and over again that Omahans want to fund safe and reliable public transit. Here’s your chance to learn more about our local transit budget and give some input!

On September 9, Omaha Metro Transit will host a budget hearing regarding their proposed 2027 budget. This meeting is open to the public.

What do shock gloves and ALPR devices like Flock have in common? They don’t make our communities safer. 🙅 As Omaha’s leaders finalize the city budget, let’s urge them to invest in public safety, not surveillance and weapons.

The budget is out, the workshops are over, and all that’s left is for you to make your voice heard at the Omaha City Budget Hearing!

Your city council needs to hear from YOU about what belongs in our city budget. Need help writing your testimony? Join Clarice at the North Omaha Visitors Center this Friday, August 7th from 10-12 or Gab at Urban Abbey this Sunday, August 9th from 1-3!

Thanks to all who came out last night for part two of the People’s Budget. Next stop: city hall for the public hearing! We also want to give a huge thanks to Together for hosting us in their new Housing Stability Clinic! 👏

If you want additional support prepping your testimony, members of our coalition are hosting informal drop-in hours to help you get ready.
