Thousands of our older veterans live in nursing and veterans homes around the country. Many of them have no family or friends near them. Thank them now!

World War II, Korean, & Vietnam War veterans will no longer be with us in a few years.

With a record amount of participation this year our judges had a really difficult time choosing just 10 Girl Scouts Troops as grant winners. Troops from all over the nation joined the movement to thank our nation's veterans. Learning lessons about military service, sacrifice, & gratitude. The Girl Scouts of Troop 5713 and 5327 joined forces for this years Veteran Baskets challenge! This was their first year participating and they went all in. One of the Troop moms made and donated custom coffee mugs so the Veterans would have a lasting gift from the troops. Then they took donations and proceeds from their cookie sales to gather items. Troop 5713 did 24 baskets from their 12 girls and Troop 5327 did another 48 baskets from their 50 girls.

They reached out to the Program Director at the VA to get ideas of most needed items. But their example also influenced two other troops in their area to donate. and the Girl Scouts - Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas can be super proud of these girls!!!!

Girl Scouts Troop 3375 from Pelion, South Carolina assembled 12 baskets and delivered them at their local community festival!

But then decided they had so much fun doing the Veteran Baskets that they sourced materials for 13 more! Great work girls!!!! We also ❤ the presentation to your local law enforcement!
