Another one of the ferals i brought in had her kittens today! Unfortunately mama rejected them so i will be bottle feeding this bunch. TNR is a very important objective to protect babies like these from being rejected.

Luckily my other foster is taking these babes on like a champ! She doesn't have enough milk supply for them but her love, warmth, and care is a huge help

Haven't had newborn kittens in a while so it'll be a fun experience to have again ❤

(Once she's done giving birth they will be moved to a blanket)

❤ Emergency Rations Tips! ❤

Struggling to feed your ferals? I know sometimes a bag of good catfood can range from $15-$30 and up and when you have over 30 cats to feed it can get seriously pricey. Here are some safe foods you can feed your ferals, but make sure to switch out ingredients so they dont get sick!

I feed about 35 cats and my trick is to boil everything and blend together what's cooked. I add water to each portion blended to help expand how much food i have for them.

Veggies-
Sweet Potato (no skin)
Carrots
Asparagus
Green Beans
Broccoli
Peas
Pumpkin
Cucumber

Fruits-
Cantalope
Blueberries
Melon

Meat-
Chicken
Pork
Beef
Freshwater fish (ocean fish can be high in mercury so I recommend fresh water fish as they are considerably lower in mercury levels)
Lamb
Game Bird

Fillers-
Rice (limit as rice can cause bloat. Id only give once or twice a week. However can help remedy upset tummy and diahrea.)
Oatmeal (do NOT use milk. Cats are lactose intolerant by nature)
Barley
Pasta Noodles

Most of these can be found very cheap, I try to stock up when there are sales. For my colony i probably spend about $15 or so in emergency rations for a week.
Here is my cost list:
60ct eggs- $2.49
Oatmeal- $1.99 per container
Rice 20lbs- $7.99
Pasta Noodles- 1 container on sale is .50
Chicken- Buy 10lbs for $10 or .88 a pound on sale
Carrots- .99

I don't recommend using fruit too often, cats are not fond of sweets and fruit can be high in sugar. Fish, beef, rice, fruit, and veggies are limited to prevent any upset tummies.

I also use this set up when giving medicine! They can't resist my "special" food and gobble it up. I have had more success working with my ferals when using this food, so i also like to limit how often I feed it to keep up their excitement when i make it.

I hope this helps! Even just getting some oatmeal or eggs will help keep their tummies full and happy.

Don't forget to check out food banks if you're especially short on money! As long as everything is unseasoned you can pretty much use it as a temporary source of food.

Heres ones of my guys I'm taming, this is all their faces when it's special food time!

I still have 19 cats that need fixed (4 male, 15 female) and am need in of some funds to do it :)

Males are $35 per neuter
Females are $45 per spay
Flea and worm treatment is $15 per cat

With all this added up, the total cost will be right around $1,100 to fix and treat each cat.

Id really appreciate some donations to fix these babies! Ive already fixed 9 of the cats so far, but i only have so much funds to go to fixing them. I spend over $100 a month just for food and litter for the cats and theres not much more that can go to fixing them.

Even a dollar helps!

Thank you!
