What objects carry memory for you? A ring, a candle, a key, a text. In this generative workshop, we’ll explore the imagery and quiet power held in the objects we treasure—and write from that deep well of meaning.

Led by award-winning poet , author of "The Animal Is Chemical" and recipient of fellowships from the NEA and the Poetry Foundation, this session offers space to read, write, and share in community.

How do we carry both joy and sorrow in the same breath? poetry asks this question through moments of family, forgiveness, and the quiet wonders of nature. Her poems move between tenderness and struggle—caring for a disabled child, finding forgiveness, waiting for hummingbirds to return. Her work has been praised for its honesty and the way love threads through every page.
