We were elated to hear that our friends at Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture received this Honor Award from the Nebraska/Dakotas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for The Prairie and Skate Spot at Millwork Commons! 🫶 Many thanks to Alley Poyner, Millwork Commons, and our fellow partners at Olsson, Hunger Skateparks, and more for their amazing work on this project.

Things might be silent on the NPSC’s social media, but the work still continues! ✍️ We’re very grateful for our time spent with City of Omaha Parks & Recreation Director Matthew Kalcevich, his team, and the Confluence - Landscape Architecture team this past week, and are eager to share our community’s vision for the 😳 PERMANENT 👀 redevelopment of our heart and home, 20th Street DIY, AKA Lynch Park. The NPSC is honored to advise on and help fundraise for the FIRST-EVER skatepark on the Omaha Reservation, located in Walthill, NE!

Home of the renowned Dr. Susan La Flesche Picotte, — the first Native American woman to receive a medical degree — the proposed ~4,000 sq. ft. site for the skatepark is just a stone’s throw away from her home and the hospital she helped establish in 1913.
