A massive thank you to the volunteers who braved the cold last month for our three Beyond The Bite packing events. You all are food insecurity warriors!

Between those and an event at Maurice reformed Church, we reached an incredible milestone!

The last month has been a total BLUR! 🌪️ Heartland is sending a HUGE THANK YOU to Sophia Zhang for:

1️⃣ Having a massive heart to give back and shine a light on food insecurity and waste.

2️⃣ Organizing a stellar fundraiser "Beyond The Bite" that raised $15,000 and packed over 40,000 meals for our local food pantries! 🍱✨

Hunger doesn’t take a break, and neither do we. Welcome to Beyond the Bite, a special community initiative dedicated to turning compassion into action.

The Mission Spearheaded by Sophia Zhang as part of her DECA project, Beyond the Bite is more than just a volunteer event—it is a movement to bridge the gap for families facing food insecurity in our region. We believe that a simple meal can be the starting point for a brighter future, allowing children to focus on school, parents to focus on work, and communities to thrive.
