The holidays can be especially challenging for children in foster care and their caregivers. Missed family traditions, separation from parents and siblings, and complex life transitions can create an emotional weight that feels heavy and confusing.

That’s why our annual Parents’ Night Out is so important. It gives children a special evening filled with holiday joy—a safe space where everyday worries can fade into fun, celebration, and connection. It also provides foster parents with a much-needed evening of free respite.

It’s been a full and fun couple of weeks with our LaunchPad crew!

They continue to be exceptional employees at BeLoved Boutique. They would love it if you stopped on by to shop! Follow BeLoved Boutique for the latest schedule.

We also wanted to share a few updates and shoutouts because community support and encouragement help people feel seen, valued, and supported, and our LP crew is no different.

Our life-skills sessions have being going so well and participation has been great! Art therapy with Karrie Barnes focused on physical coping skills such as stretching, coloring, and vocalizing. We also visited the Luminarium to explore our community and learn through its interactive exhibits. Watching the group pretend to be in a band was such a fun reminder of the joy of curiosity and childlike exploration. They also participated in a financial literacy session with Matthew Ho**er featuring an interactive cash-flow and accountability board—and everyone learned a lot! This past week, we visited the new Central Library for some quiet connection. Those without library cards received theirs. The team enjoyed Zen Coffee while discussing life’s highs and lows, working on resumes, and doodling as they shared ideas for future retreats with Amber LaRae

While ups and downs are inevitable, each member of our LaunchPad crew is finding their footing and steadily working toward their goals. They are defying the statistics that too often overshadow their potential and proving that they can become contributing members of society who make a meaningful difference.

We’re so grateful to their team for helping bring the art station to life at our Kids’ Night Out! 🖌️✨ Sarah and Taylor were absolutely wonderful and helped make the evening extra special for the kids by celebrating our dog, Nala.

September was another wonderful month at Foster H + H! We hosted our three regular shopping days and had an incredible response, providing 182 shopping experiences to the families we serve.

Shopping experiences are truly the heartbeat of what we do. Each visit is about so much more than shopping — it’s about creating a welcoming space, meeting practical needs, building relationships, and reminding foster families that they are supported and valued.

We love hearing directly from the families we serve, and this heartfelt message says it all:

“What stands out the most is how welcomed and supported we have always felt. They do so many special things for foster families that truly go above and beyond, and you can feel how much they genuinely care. Their love, kindness, and support have meant more to our family than they probably realize. We are so grateful to have Foster H + H in our lives.”

Feedback like this is such a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. We want every family who walks through our doors to feel seen, welcomed, and cared for, and we are incredibly grateful to know that this impact is being felt.

And the numbers? They are incredible!

From January through September 2025, we provided 1,214 shopping experiences. During that same period in 2026, we provided 1,845 shopping experiences — an increase of 631 experiences, or nearly 52%!

That is HUGE growth! We are so excited to see more families connecting with our services and benefiting from these opportunities. Behind every number is a family, a relationship, and a chance to make a difference.

Thank you to our incredible supporters, volunteers, donors, and everyone who makes our shopping days possible. Your generosity allows us to continue showing up for foster families in meaningful ways. We are so grateful to be part of this community, and we can’t wait to see how much more we can accomplish together!

💙 88 VOLUNTEER HOURS IN SEPTEMBER! 💙

September brought us a slower, steadier month — and we were so grateful for it! With no large programs or events to prepare for, we were able to focus on one of our favorite seasonal projects: transitioning the boutique to fall! 🍂🧥

We had some large hauls come through, which meant lots of hands were needed to sort, organize, tag, stock the floor, and carefully store items for future seasons. And, as always, our incredible volunteers showed up ready to help! 🫶

A special thank-you to RSM and Midwest Disability Services for volunteering with us this month! Your teams jumped right in and got to work, and it was such a joy having you in our space. 💙

⛳️💙 Community, Connections & Impact! 💙⛳️ 

Back in June, the Fusion Networking group hosted the Fusion Golf Charity Event, and this September, we were thrilled to receive a $4,000 check raised through the event! 🎉 

The day was filled with great golf, laughter, meaningful connections, and a whole lot of fun. Amber, Matt, Andy, and Ira hit the course, while Lindsey held down a fundraising hole where guests guessed the number of shopping experiences from our first year — raising an additional $600 for our mission! 🛍️💙 

We are incredibly grateful to Fusion Networking and everyone who played, participated, donated, and helped make this day possible. 

$4,600 raised. Countless connections made. One incredible impact. 💙
