A message from me—Djel Ann—I have not done well with Facebook for awhile—I have been busy—first I had a stroke, then I had a number of falls and then I had a doozy of a week-end—4 falls in a short period of time, ended up in the hospital with broken bones and a 4-6 month recovery time frame. However, I am determined to follow all rules and be at Homecoming Sept 25-26. We have artists submitting great and fun art, we have cars lined up,the band is gearing up—and Friday night dinner and the school tour on Saturday will be fun. So many alums have pitched in ; this will be a great centennial celebration. Thanks to the committee: Linda Brablec, -Janet Henderson, Colleen Bizzarri, Lynn Sorensen, Julie Johnson, jill Benz, Amy Steinauer, Nancy Gardner, Pat Wagner, and 2 who are personal friends and just want to help—Laura Johnson and Cheri McPherson. These women have put together a wonderful Homecoming Centennial Celebration.

The plans for homecoming are growing—where can you be entertained for hours for free with friends? SATURDAY NIGHT OF HOMECOMING— in Benson. A car show, an art show and a music concert. September 26. And a walk from Benson West School to Benson High School plus a tour of the school—all at no charge.

And where can you get a brisket dinner with all the trimmings for $30 plus photos of you and your friends, tickets to the football game, entertainment and a chance to leave your name on stones for the next 100 years? Homecoming—September 25 —BHS

Logan is now the new head coach at Benson High School. We are so fortunate to have him with us—a huge welcome to Coach Ehlers.

A former high school phenom from Nebraska City is back in the dugout. Logan Ehlers is sharing his pitching knowledge with Omaha Benson.

MORE SAD NEWS—The Class of 1958 lost another classmate: Chuck Witte. Chuck passed away in Ohio where his daughter lived. Chuck’s younger brother, Bob, followed Chuck at Benson playing on the basketball teams—both were outstanding players. Chuck was simply a great guy, and will be sorely missed.

Just had a request for Homecoming week-end—a ceremonial walk from the first Benson High School at the present Benson West school located at 66th and Maple Street to the then new Benson High School at 52nd and Maple Street. The walk could begin 30 minutes before the tour of present day Benson high school. Since the walk is 14 blocks, we should be able to do it in less than 30 minutes. Is anyone up for a ceremonial walk? Let us know as it would be fun to walk through Benson and remember how it was when we all were in school. Does anyone want to portray Principal Mary Mac Namara leading the parade?
