The Omaha Freedom Festival is a family-friendly event expanding the NAACP Juneteenth Parade to an all day festival; providing education, entertainment & access to local resources.

To everyone who came out to Level Up — thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Nearly 5,000 people came through in the heat to meet employers, connect with resources, share a meal, and look for a better opportunity. You did more than attend an event. You gave Level Up meaning. You reminded us why this work matters.

Level Up started five years ago during COVID because Freedomtainment Omaha believed people in North Omaha and Douglas County deserved access to jobs, resources, opportunity, and hope. That mission is still alive because you keep showing up.

And while people may see me in front, there is a team behind the scenes that carries this event on their shoulders: MJ Jones, Racquel Henderson, Kellan Barbershop, Briania Jones, Kevin Mitchell, Shanon Jackson, Virgil Haskin ,Karen Davis, Shelby Penkins, Tim Anderson, Duke Riggs of Ozone Productions, Lisa Breckenridge, and Ed Breckenridge. Thank you for the calls nobody hears, the problems nobody sees, the long days, the stress, the sacrifices, and the love you pour into this community.

Level Up is not one person. It is the people who attend, the people who serve, and the people behind the scenes who refuse to stop believing that one connection can change a life.

If you met an employer, found a resource, made a connection, received a job lead, or something happened Saturday that helped your family, please DM us and tell us your story. And if we need to do something better, tell us that too. We want to listen, learn, and make Level Up stronger.

Freedomtainment Omaha is proud to have collaborated with Je Dunn Construction and Google to help donate $80,000 in Milwaukee tools to support Omaha Public Schools career and trades programs.

This investment will help students at Benson High School, Bryan High School, South High School, and the Career Center gain hands-on experience, build real-world skills, and prepare for careers in construction and the skilled trades.

We want to thank the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation, Google, Je Dunn Construction, Blue Hat, Stan Houston, Milwaukee Tool, Heartland Workforce Solutions, and Omaha Public Schools for helping make this possible.

This is exactly what Level Up is about: bringing businesses, schools, workforce organizations, and nonprofits together to create real opportunities for young people and families in our community.

🚗❤️ CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LEVEL UP COMMUNITY IMPACT VEHICLE WINNER! ❤️🚗

Freedomtainment Omaha is proud to congratulate Tinice Jones, the recipient of this year’s Level Up Community Impact Vehicle! 🎉

A huge thank you to Andre Rash and Humble Auto Solutions for partnering with Freedomtainment Omaha and taking the time to find a safe, reliable vehicle for Tinice and her family. This giveaway was about more than giving away a car—it was about helping remove a transportation barrier and giving a family another opportunity to move forward.

We also want to sincerely thank everyone who submitted a letter or email. We received so many powerful stories, and choosing a recipient was not easy.@

Special thanks to MJ Jones and Racquel Henderson for reviewing the submissions and helping select the finalists. They had an extremely difficult decision to make, and we appreciate the time, care and compassion they put into helping us find the right candidate.
