Miracles amidst Mango Trees

May this be our prayer.
May we see miracles under the shade of the many trees in Gambella.
May there be healing, forgiveness, and peace that passes all understanding.

Before closing out the year and celebrating Christmas and Jesus as the reason for long-lasting hope, we draw attention to the growth of our new connections in a beloved region in Ethiopia.

Arrangements were made for learning to happen at the Omaha Lied Transplant Center observing methods of patient education, which will be applied to women's health initiatives in Gambella.
We are so grateful to the UNMC instructors, staff, doctors ( especially Transplant Program Manager Nancy Theis ) who shared their time and knowledge with our special guests.

We are also thankful to the donors of medical necessities that were able to be packed and sent several weeks ago.
The supplies and a new partnership have been taken home to Gambella.
We are relieved at their safe arrival amidst upheaval. Dr. Tut and CEO Ruon work in leadership at Gambella Town Primary Hospital.
We are deeply saddened by the ethnic tensions that have emerged and affected the peace process in the area. We continue to pray that stability will return soon.

Your support is enabling us to make significant strides in spiritual and practical outreach, sowing seeds of the Gospel that will resonate for generations. Our “FIRST FRIDAYS” with 🩸Pads4Pupils successfully launched 2 weeks ago!

Faithful volunteers joined at FBC for a womens working fellowship time.
Especially powerful was Danna vision-casting for future efforts, as well as highlighting pieces from the recent Kenya trip. Updates of empowerment and provision offer such encouragement of impact being made.

What a wonderful time to connect with one another, trace pads, cut liners, sort fabric and see face-to-face progress.

We’re hosting our next “First Friday” on October 4th. It’s only 2 weeks from today, so this is your friendly reminder to get it on your calendar, and send in some questions or topics you’d like us to share about during our monthly event.

Packing process is well under-way.
The WEIGHING of underwear (among other essentials) has begun. 🩲 ⚖️
You’d be surprised how heavy they can all get! Weigh-in #1 currently at 416 pounds, leaving room for more as final touches are made.

Even on a holiday we see friends supporting the cause to send us well stocked into new communities we are eager to partner with.

We can continue to equip others, because we have been well equipped.

Looking forward to sharing some beautiful stories from the recent Guatemala trainings.

Praise God for the opportunity ASM Bible Engagement Director Tara Rye had last week to travel to Guatemala. She led a Story-Centric Discipleship training in partnership with Reason to Hope, Inc. and Pads4Pupils.

During her time there, Tara was teaching shepherd stories from the Bible and shared that one of the men, Jose, exclaimed, "Oh, I get it. Jesus is telling the Pharisees they are the thieves." She noticed the very moment this realization washed over his face, and he smiled. When she asked how many times he had heard the story, he replied, "I guess 5,” which led to a powerful conversation on the process of meditating on a passage and the way it helps us to hear the voice of God like the sheep that follow the shepherd.

This is the power of story-centric discipleship. Please pray that those who heard and meditated on stories from Scripture with Tara over the past week will have opportunities to tell more people the good news of Jesus, our Good Shepherd!

FREEDOM
What is it really ?

Swedish, American, South Sudanese
And more!
This is our family.
This is our heart.
To love well, anywhere in the world, in tangible ways with meaningful words and deeds.

Mormor did these things, and the legacy continues on, even in her death.

To honor her, instead of flowers, she designated for education to continue. Funds were gathered for continued impact in support of the communities served.
This life long educator and world traveler will continue to leave her mark.

Our Mother, Grandmother, and Friend.

She is now FREE
Free of pain
Free of conflict
Free of fear

Whether it is being at war with our own body, or the effects of living in a broken world, it is HEAVY to be here.

Loss is HEAVY
Loss of security
Loss of sleep
Loss of life
Loss of hope

BUT WE HAVE HOPE!!!

We will be healed!
We will be at peace!
We will have freedom!
We will be with Jesus!

Happy independence day South Sudan!
Happy belated 4th United States!
Happy is a heart that knows Mormor is free from this world, and we will be with her again.
True freedom, true peace, is being in the presence of our Creator God.

Menstrual Hygiene Day was this past Sunday May 28th, 2023. 🌎 🩸 🌍

We want to take this opportunity to appreciate the women and men who work to close the gap and lessen the number in need.
Women and girls in our world carry on without essential supplies.

“Over 1.9 billion women and girls menstruate but 500 MILLION do not have what they need to safely manage their periods.”-Days for Girls International

The high standard of care and curriculum developed by DFG has been an essential part to education endeavors in our program.

Essential as well are the generous HEARTS and HANDS of our partners, volunteers, donors, and churches who see the value of women and are helping us educate, empower, and equip.
WE THANK YOU!

Pads4Pupils can continue essential development with communities with necessary supplies and education, because of your support.
