Very thankful we now have an indoor option with the heat we've had lately.

We were told by one of our friends that the tea from Urban Abbey was their highlight of every Sunday, and it's hard to disagree with that. 🖤

Hi, all, it’s been a while! I assure you we are still out here and have been staying busy trying to help community members meet their needs. Hard to believe we’ve been at our new location at Walnut Hill Park (and thanks to the generosity of the congregation of Augustana Lutheran Church, in the church basement when the weather isn’t ideal), for over 7 months now, but so far things have been going well.

It’s that time of year when temperatures start to rise, and unfortunately, so are the needs of the community. As always, we greatly appreciate your generosity which helps us continue our work, but right now the greatest need might be you.

If you have been looking to make a material difference in the lives of your neighbors, if you have been looking for a way to be involved in something, if you have just been looking for a way to get out of the house and meet some friendly people, consider checking out OAA. A friend and street kitchen regular has hit a rough patch and needs help to make rent! He's an incredible organizer who has done so much for street kitchen since our move to Walnut Hill last November, including welcoming us to the new neighborhood and helping us build a strong relationship with the community.
