Got a free afternoon this fall? There’s a spot for you at Generation Diamond. 🍂

Volunteers sort donated clothing and help out at our events. Others bring a friend or acquaintance to help review resumes or mentor someone who’s getting back on their feet.

Groups are welcome too. If your workplace or church wants to serve together, we’d love to plan a volunteer day with you. 🤝

Thanks to the Douglas County Health Department, Generation Diamond has naloxone (Narcan) available for anyone who may need it in an emergency. It can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose and give the person time to get emergency care.

You don’t have to use drugs to carry it. Having it on hand just means you’re ready if someone near you needs help.

Some of the most important conversations in our office happen in Spanish. 💬

We’re one block off South 24th Street, where Latino families have been raising kids and running businesses for generations.

So serving people in both English and Spanish is part of how we work every day. When someone is rebuilding after a crisis, they should be able to explain what they need in the language they think in.

A tattoo on someone's hand or neck can end a job interview before the first question gets asked.

That's why we run the only free laser tattoo removal program in Nebraska. ✨

We focus on visible tattoos tied to gang life or left behind by an abuser or trafficker.

This work now reaches inside the Omaha Correctional Center too, so people can start treatment before they come home.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we want every survivor in Omaha to know there is a place for them here. Survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking are part of the community Generation Diamond serves every day.

Our services are available in English and Spanish, and you never have to figure out the next step by yourself.

If you've had a lunch sack at Generation Diamond, there's a good chance Mike Weber brought it. 🥪

Mike regularly carries in lunch sacks for our participants, and he and the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul have been supporting our community for years.

A sack lunch sounds simple. But for someone spending the day between a State ID appointment and a job interview, it means one less thing to worry about.

Last Thursday, we hosted a free Harm Reduction session right here at Generation Diamond.

Our team shared practical ways to stay safe and look out for one another, and everyone who came left with resources and supplies to take home.

This session is part of our partnership with the Douglas County Health Department through Overdose Data to Action. Together, we are working to prevent overdoses here in Omaha.

Today is the last day of National Recovery Month. Tomorrow, the work looks exactly the same. 🧡

Recovery doesn't follow a calendar. For the people we work with, it happens week after week in trauma group and one-on-one counseling, alongside everyday things like sandwiches & snacks

All of that continues in October.

If you or someone you love is looking for support, our doors are open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Services are available in English and Spanish.

Vincent Mays volunteers with our Tattoo Removal Program every week. He also tends to arrive with food, which our staff has noticed and appreciates more than he probably realizes. 🍽️

Vincent serves on our board, and he is also here in the building, doing the work right alongside our team.

He collects clothing and supplies from his friends and brings them by. When a participant needs a ride to an appointment and we are short a driver, Vincent offers before anyone has to ask.

We celebrated him this month, and something came up that most people do not know: the man can dance salsa. 💃

Thank you, Vincent. We are lucky to have you.
