What did y’all’s Saturday consist of? This morning Naples hosted some training and invited Omaha Fire to join in. They conducted training using encapsulating technology presented by Matthew Whatley with F500 Encapsulator Technology. Both Departments received some great training and knowledge. After the drill firefighters were served with a hamburger lunch. Thank you Naples Fire and Rescue.

One of our own volunteers who happens to work for Pittsburgh Fire. Way to be a true hero Colton Wilson.

Tonight these six first responders received a service award for their actions on February 1st when responding to a structure fire here in the city limits of Pittsburg. The Fire Department and the Police Department always give each other a hard time but when it really matters they always come together. Very proud of both departments.

Yesterday at the David Elliot Masonic lodge pancake breakfast one of our own Deborah Hosea Cason received the Community Builder award. This award goes to a citizen who goes above and beyond to make our community great. She not only volunteers with our dept as assistant chief but she is an active member of Concord Baptist Church, heavily involved with the city park board, and owner of helping hands massage here in Omaha. She stays busy helping out wherever she is needed and I know we at Omaha Fire and Rescue are beyond blessed to have her helping lead our department. Omaha Fire and Rescue also received a donation from the lodge that they give to a non profit for community service and without groups and individuals donations we would not be able to do what we love to do and that’s helping our community.

Stay weather aware! Keep phones charged, if you have children charge their iPads, flashlights and batteries on hand, have multiple ways to receive emergency weather notices. Know where to go to seek shelter!!!! This would be the most interior room or closet away from doors and windows.

Strong to Severe Thunderstorms will be possible later today, through the evening and possibly overnight hours across much of the Four State Region. Large hail, damaging thunderstorm wind gusts and a few tornadoes will be possible.
