A YEAR OF HOPE…MADE POSSIBLE BY YOU!
Thank you, dear friends, for walking faithfully alongside Nebraska 117 as we pursue the beautiful work God has placed in our care. Because of your generosity in 2025, we were able to stand with foster families in moments of real need and offer counseling through Nebraska 117 Counseling to individuals facing crisis, hurt, and emotional pain. Your support has truly changed lives.

Will you give a year-end gift to Nebraska 117 - and then take one extra step by inviting someone else to join you in giving? Your compassion expands far beyond what you can see.

Supporting the Foster-Care Community
In the past year, 13% of all counseling sessions provided were for individuals facing challenges connected to foster care, kinship care, and adoption. These Foster, kinship, and adoptive families often carry heavy emotional burdens, and we are proud to stand alongside them, offering support, understanding, and a safe space for healing. Every step they take is a step toward brighter futures, and we’re honored to be a part of that journey.

Making Counseling Accessible to All
At Nebraska 117 Counseling, we firmly believe that financial barriers should never prevent someone from getting the support they need. In the past year, 19.3% of all sessions were provided at no cost or at a reduced rate, ensuring that anyone who sought help could receive it. Through your generous contributions, we were able to cover $11,445 in costs, directly supporting those in need. This effort is not just about therapy; it’s about showing people that they are valued, no matter their circumstances.

Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for standing with the most vulnerable in our community. Your kindness makes all the difference.

O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
1 Chronicles 16:34

There is so much for us to be grateful for this past year. God has been so good to our family and a growing Nebraska 117 community. We have watched as so many have given of your time, talent and treasure to impact more foster homes and vulnerable kids. Because of you, we see firsthand the work of the goodness of God in the lives of the least of these.

From the poem “Gratefullnesse” by George Herbert,

“Not thankful when it pleaseth me, as if Thy gifts had spare days,
but such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.”

May our hearts be filled with thanksgiving, bringing glory to God in all that we do!

Thankful for you,
- Tim & Jen Bowes

Prayer of the day from the Founder of Stand Sunday, Bishop Aaron Blake.

“May the Lord continue to break our hearts for what breaks His. May we continue to seek justice, love, mercy and walk humbly before our God together. May we humbly serve the most vulnerable in our neighborhoods and communities so that they may know the Savior King we love, serve, and give all the glory.”

If you or your church would like to participate in Stand Sunday, contact [email protected].

Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the bravery of the first responders who risked everything. We reflect on the resilience and strength that brought us together as a nation.

Let us never forget the courage, sacrifice, and unity that emerged from the darkest of days. 🇺🇸

While Foster Awareness Month & Mental Health Month 2024 have come to an end, we are just beginning the work that has been put before us to care for vulnerable children and support those that need counsel. Take a few moments to read this email and another two minutes to read this week’s mental health tip (hint: it’s about bringing up issues).
