This 9-week male golden doodle - that we decided to call Stanley - is being placed with a family out of Lincoln. Soon to be 6yr old Nelli has wanted a dog forever. Macy’s Way was more than excited to place our 30th pup. More to come! Skeeter and Fozz have taken him in like one of their own.

Happy Valentine Day

The original CandleWoof treat box was our way to provide a special treat to the dogs that walked our neighborhood. It’s been a great way to meet the dogs and their owners and promote Macy’s Way. Over time the treats started disappearing and refilling the mailbox went from about every two weeks to about 5 days….been really cool to see. And then neighbors started dropping off boxes of treats to refill the treat box. That surprised us but has been awesome.

We have four Macy’s Way mailboxes in Omaha, one in New Orleans and one in Ocean Beach California.

This video explains a recent email we received. It meant so much to us and we wanted to share.

Terry and Lisa are the newest members of the Macy’s Way family. Their daughter, Lauren, recommended them after they lost their beloved Ruby. Lauren thought a new pup might brighten their days.

After we let him know that his daughter had applied for a pup through Macy’s Way and that our board had chosen to have mini golden Lottie be placed with them, Terry had questions, concerns and I could hear his smile over the phone that Lottie might be just what he needed.

He was game. We were game. Lottie was game. And in the process a family found a new friend, a new companion. As Terry said in his text to me in response to how was Lottie doing, he said, “Lottie is a lot of work…”

And I said, “Lottie has a lotta love.”

As Lottie settles in, keeps Terry and Lisa young at heart, we are excited to get updates and watch as Lottie brings some smiles to whoever she meets.

Lauren and I texted today. She said it’s going well, that she hasn’t seen her dad smile this much since Ruby crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

We look forward to their updates. So as Lottie adjusts to a new home she also finds her perfect forever name: Sammy.

We wish the best for Sammy and are so happy she has found a special place with Terry and Lisa.

A side note: their daughter Lauren played club volleyball with Macy. They graduated together from Marian together. It’s a small world. And we hope it gets smaller through the degrees of separation and the tangled web of Macy’s Way.

Today, Mowgli found his forever home with Keaton. 🐾❤️

Mogs has been part of our family for nearly six weeks through Macy’s Way and CWS puppy placement program. We were lucky to have him a little longer so Karen could take him to visit memory care and nursing facilities—he was incredible. He brought joy and comfort to everyone he met, and his gentle nature left a lasting impression.

Our Skeeter will miss her buddy, and we’ll all miss this special pup. Mowgli is truly one of the best dogs we’ve had the honor of fostering.

We’re over the moon for Mogs and Keaton as they begin this new chapter together. 🐶🏡💫

A special visit to the Astoria Senior Living Center for Macy's Way. Karen visited with pup Mowgli....bonus was having Skutt Catholic Brendan Link join her with his two pups, Gigi and Sadie. The residents loved the company and it was great to see Mowgli enjoy a private hug with the one and only Ginny Daisley.

We’re Honored – Macy’s Way & the LSU Tigers 🐅⚾️

Flying Flags For Charity graciously included Macy’s Way as one of eight featured nonprofits at this year’s College World Series at the Omaha Baseball Village — and to say we are honored is an understatement.

As part of this incredible group, each nonprofit is paired with an “honorary” team. We are beyond thrilled that Macy’s Way was matched with none other than the LSU Tigers!

What a game tonight — an instant classic and an incredible finish for the Tigers as they advance to the Championship! Macy had the chance to visit LSU, loved the campus and spirit, and strongly considered becoming a Tiger herself.

Now, her little sister Mia has an upcoming visit to LSU in July... who knows? Maybe we’ll have Mia the Tiger soon!

What an incredible day.
So many people came out to support Macy’s Way—from the Skutt Volleyball Family to our own families, friends, and even new friends we met along the way. It was a special Father’s Day filled with joy, connection, and compassion.

We are so grateful to everyone who showed up, volunteered, shared stories, or simply stopped by to learn more about our mission. Your support made this event not only successful but truly meaningful.
