Brighten our Future Early Learning Center

Brighten our Future Early Learning Center Brighten our Future ELC is a newly recognized 501c3 founded after the Covid 19 pandemic shattered the economy and with that, the childcare industry.

Brighten Our Future Early Learning Center is a nonprofit center in North Omaha with a mission to provide quality early childhood education/care and resources for families regardless of economic or social status. There was already a shortage of quality child care in lower income neighborhoods and a huge gap that prevents single parents from advancement opportunities due to losing child care assista

nce. At Brighten Our Future ELC we passionately believe in building interpersonal relationships between parents, children, and caregivers while providing resources necessary for independent growth. Our goals are as follows:
1. Bridge the gap in childcare assistance that prevents advancement opportunities
2. Provide quality and affordable childcare for families of all economic backgrounds in a safe and inclusive environment with an emphasis on minority and low-middle income families
3. To ensure families do not fall victim to food insecurity

We are looking for the right person to join our team.

At Brighten Our Future ELC, we are more than a daycare and we have very high expectations. We are an early learning program focused on helping children build the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic foundations they need to be successful in school and life.

For us, classroom management is the intentional process of creating an environment where children feel safe, connected, and ready to learn. Rather than simply supervising children throughout the day, our educators actively teach the skills children need to navigate the world around them.

A Lead Educator at Brighten Our Future understands that behavior is communication. They recognize that a child who is struggling may need support, guidance, or a new skill.

This means our educators:

Teach emotional regulation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.

Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families.

Create predictable routines and structured environments that help children feel secure.

Use proactive strategies to prevent challenging behaviors BEFORE they occur.

Support children through co-regulation rather than relying on exclusion or punitive discipline.

Understand the impact of trauma, poverty, developmental delays, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on behavior and learning.

Foster a classroom culture where every child feels valued, capable, and included.

A successful Lead Educator is not simply managing a classroom, they are shaping our future leaders. They are helping children learn how to communicate their needs, build healthy relationships, develop confidence, and become lifelong learners.

If you believe that early childhood education is about more than supervision, and you are passionate about helping children grow socially, emotionally, and academically, we would love to meet you.

At Brighten our Future Early Learning Center we know that early childhood education cannot be separated from the realities families face at home. A child cannot fully thrive when families are worried about where their next meal is coming from.

That is why our mission has always gone beyond childcare. Through our wrap-around approach, we work to support the whole family by connecting them with resources, community partnerships, and access to basic needs including food support.

Our upcoming People’s Picnic is more than just a community event. It is a reflection of what we believe: that families deserve dignity, connection, nourishment, and a village that shows up for them. We hope you can join us!
