For over a century, United Way of the Midlands has supported families and individuals facing hardship across Omaha and the surrounding region. Today, they’re taking a modern approach—combining data, community insight, and long-standing partnerships to make an even bigger impact.

By analyzing trends and working directly with local nonprofits, UWM ensures funding goes to programs that truly address community needs. From supporting transitional housing for young women experiencing homelessness to empowering nearly 4,000 students through JAG Nebraska, UWM’s work reaches deep into the lives of those who need it most.

Programs like 211, a free confidential helpline, and direct initiatives driven by UWM’s research, show how pairing analytics with empathy can identify gaps, guide resources, and create lasting change. Every grant, every program, every connection is part of a mission to strengthen the community and give neighbors the support they deserve.
