This environmentally devoted team picked up 6 bags of litter & trash plus a 30 gal bag of recycling. The Flash Flood Flash Trash Mob team for today was amazing. Join us anytime you are able. FYI...it really feels good to make a difference when the world is so wonky! Plus we found interesting stuff as usual. (balls, shoes, hubcaps, etc.) Thanks to Marta, Brian, Bridget and yours truly.

There is SO much litter and trash at the top line of where the water came along the Papio Creek. This morning 5 volunteers Flash cleaned the Flash flood area south of Mercy Rd, Keystone Trail. We picked up 17 bags of plastic bottles, shoes, toys, you name it in 60 min. Word of Caution: if you are inclined to help out on your own time, do not go more than 1/4 of the way to the creek. Unstable banks, holes, more tree debris, make it unsafe. We could just walk along the upper edge and do a steady pick up. Thanks to Bill, Ron, Tobin, Brian and yours truly for getting a start on this area!

Any visible litter at Karen Park has now been picked up. We hadn't been there before, even though some of use use the trail by it all the time. Our mini-mob picked up 3 bags of litter, trash, and that interesting flipper....didn't find the other one. Hope this gives the community a little 'pick me up' after the flash flooding.❤🌎‼

3. Wednesday, 10/14 - Big Papio Trail S. 72nd to Q St. 10-11am

If you have some spare time today, 10/14/26, Join us in making an impact on the flash flood debris. Area includes trail side and not more than 1/4 Papio Creek side. Supplies provided, wear good shoes, partially accessible and kiddos okay with adults. We'll start at S. 72nd and the Big Papio Trail and to SE.

The Blue Bucket Project has a good working relationship with the City of Omaha Parks & Recreation park maintenance folks. Picked up 2+ abandoned encampments along the Keystone Trail...reported, but it took a couple of days and meantime,....animals and people went through it...and then, after it was picked up it was freaking spotless. Thanks to a Parks employee who is not on social media. We are super appreciative!

We're collaborating with Global Leadership Group for their Final Community Cleanup. 24 - 24 - 24. (Oct. 24th, N. 24th St., 24 volunteers receive car trash cans!)

We are ONE MONTH away from our LAST community cleanup of 2026! Join us for The Big Sweep on October 24th. No impact is too small, and no volunteer group too large. Whether it is direct litter cleanup, large item disposal support, or garden winterization, all will play an important role in sending North 24th Street shining into winter.

Our public Flash Trash Mob this morning at S. 29th & Leavenworth was very productive! 12 volunteers collected 20 bags of litter, trash and recycling in 60 min. Way to go volunteers! ❤🌎‼ You make such an impact on our environment. Our community is cleaner and safer with your help. You can help too! Just show up any of our events....supplies are provided.
