good info

Whether you're behind the wheel, on a bike, or on foot, Nebraska's streets belong to all of us. Last year, Nebraska saw a 33% increase in fatal vulnerable road user crashes and an 82% more fatalities than the five-year average.

Today we're launching Watch for Wheels, a statewide campaign to remind every road user that safety is a shared responsibility. When we all do our part, everyone gets home safely.

Take the pledge to stay alert, follow the rules of the road, and watch for everyone who shares Nebraska's streets and trails. Share this with someone who needs to see it.

Let's be melodramatic, going past Roberts park like this...(see pic) almost cried. NO TRAIL CLOSED SIGN! (other than there were a ton of police cars, etc in the in the parking) and then.....YES!!!!! There are straw barriers to keep the mud off the trail until the grass grows! 'Bout time'!. And while we don't need things perfect, what the heck? If it rains, the clumps of grass on the trail can be an issue. Just did not have it together today to go back and blow it off. It takes a village and it is a work in progress. Hang in there with us! 🙃

Update: as of 4:45p this person has already had a visit from our good friends.

We have reported this, (5/29/26) but no idea how soon it will be taken care of. Solo female runners be cautious as this guy had no problem chatting it up. He has the flaps so he can see out. Keystone Trail, Grover St underpass near S 66th. Also be cautious of debris on trail.
