Not many people can say they stayed alone in the house behind me. But if you look to the upper right "the red brick chimney" that's where the murderer spent the night waiting for everyone to fall asleep. I'm sure the house is haunted. Not by the murderer but by the children who were axed to death in their sleep.

Ive been wanting to visit this place for at least 12 years. I finally got here. Yes there is a story behind it. And when my thoughts are complete on it I will share. UPDATE, most of you are aware of the Villisca Ax Murder House where 2 adults and 6 children were murdered June 10th 1912. This June 10 2023 it will be 111 years since the murders. I had the pleasure of doing "my thing" there recently. It was reported by other groups that the ghost of the murderer still resides in the house. Unfortunately I don't believe that. My thoughts are it is the energy of the murdered that still are there. They were killed in their sleep and perhaps don't know they are dead. My theory is The murderer moved through out the country by rail. Simply because today as in 1912 the Railroad is about 300 yards from the house. It seems from 1910 - 1918 murders along this line happen quite often, from state to state. I believe the murderer moved on. And can't see a reason for his spirit to return after death. I believe he killed long before and after June 10 1912. So why return to Villisca Iowa. I can't prove it but in my heart I know that all the strange things happening in the house are probably from the children whom died in their sleep. What do you think?

This is all that remains of The West Mountain Sanitarium. In the early part of the 20th century, this was home to over 400 Tuberculosis patients. The sad thing is most didn't survive their diagnosis. Approximately 13 years ago anthracite paranormal investigated here. I really can't say that this is a scary place. But for sure it is a sad place. The last remaining remnants of the sanitarium is this fireplace. It was part of the main house for the medical staff. We did find the ground and the buildings were haunted. It was a place where society sent it's sick and dying. The feeling to this day is a sad heavy feeling that makes you want to cry. I will remember those forgotten ones this season. And to those remains buried on the property in unmarked graves.

Do your research, the best way to move forward in a investigation is research. Never totally take someones word, it can lead you down the wrong path. People really don't usually lie about hauntings but most of the times they embellish the truth. And they really don't mean too. But when they tell the story so many times it gets bigger. Use the best tool you have, the one between your ears.
