Queer Art Heals Your Heart

Queer Art Heals Your Heart QAHYH is designed as a therapeutic program that utilizes expressive arts, for youth who identify as LGBTQQIA and who are survivors of general crimes.

QAHYH is a support group with individual advocacy on an as needed basis. QAHYH is designed as a therapeutic program that utilizes expressive arts, for youth who identify as le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, questioning, intersex, asexual and who are survivors of general crime such as hate crimes, assault, burglary, child abuse, drunk and drugged driving, homicide, identity theft, traffic

king, kidnapping, and property crimes. It is funded by the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy. There are multiple Q***r Art groups that run for various lengths of time. An open drop in group at Community Youth Services, an open drop in group at Stonewall Youth, sometimes a group that meets at PiPE's downtown Resource Center and sometimes (when funding allows) a closed therapy group. The Q***r Art Heals Your Heart groups usually utilizes a different art medium each week with a corresponding therapy theme. We strongly believe in self determination and encourage participants to dive as deep or as little into our themes as they feel comfortable with. Our open drop in groups are a great place for participants to get to know the facilitators in a less intense setting if they are interested in the closed group.
