Madison has been part of this neighborhood for 70 years. Before we head into a hearing about its future, we're going to celebrate everything worth fighting for.
Join us Monday, 10/19 at 5pm at First United Methodist Church of Olympia (FUMCO) for free dinner, sign making, laughter, and community. Thank you to New Bridge Community Church for providing dinner and FUMCO for hosting us.
This is what makes a neighborhood school so special. It's the kids and teachers, yes, but also the neighbors, the businesses, churches, and generations of families that call Eastside Neighborhood home too. This neighborhood keeps showing up for Madison. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.
At 5:45pm, we'll walk over together to the public hearing at Madison. It feels like our school is being put on trial, but we will walk in with our shoulders back, united, proud, and ready to be heard.
There is a place for you this night regardless of having kids or not, living in this neighborhood, we want all:
- Come celebrate the Madison community at 5pm
- Attend the public hearing and pack the gym
- Give public comment and share what it means to have a guaranteed institution of public education in our Eastside Neighborhood
- Or simply come line the sidewalk leading up to Madison at 5:45pm and welcome our families with cheers, signs, and a big Madison ROAR. Remind our kids how many people are standing beside them.
