To the VFW 318 Members, Staff and Volunteers,
I want to take a moment to sincerely thank each of you for your hard work, dedication, and service over the past five-plus years that I have had the privilege of serving on the House Committee.
Together, we have worked through challenges, celebrated successes, hosted events, supported our veterans and members, and helped keep this Post moving forward. The time, effort, and commitment that each of you brings to VFW 318 is appreciated more than words can express.
After much consideration, I have decided to step back from my active House Committee responsibilities. This is not a goodbye to the Post, but rather a transition into a new role. I will be stepping next door to serve as the Quartermaster, while also focusing on my educational goals. I will be pursuing my Master’s degree, with the intention of continuing on to earn a Doctorate in Counseling.
While my responsibilities may be changing, my commitment to VFW 318 remains the same. You will still see me around the Post, and I will continue to help behind the bar and support operations whenever needed. I look forward to continuing to serve our members and veterans in a different capacity while working toward my academic goals.
Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for VFW 318. It has been an honor to serve alongside such a dedicated group of individuals, and I look forward to supporting the Post’s future success from a new seat at the table.
With appreciation and respect,
Joshua Howen
House Committee Chair
