Need volunteers to help with our booth at Heritage Park in Olympia on Friday, August 14th. We need help with set up, take down and manning the booth during the day. Set up is around 10 am. Join us, Tuesday, July 28th for our next Climate Catalyst Talk. 6 pm at the Soul Cafe: 300 5th Ave. SW in Olympia. This month's talk is on Washington's Cap-and-Invest Auctions & Markets.

Recently, Washington State signed a historic agreement to connect Washington State’s carbon market with California and Quebec. This is a monumental moment for partnering across state and country borders to cut climate pollution.

But what is a carbon market? How does the auction work? How is the money used? And what will this historic agreement mean for climate action in Washington State?

TCAT is happy to host Derek Nixon, Ecology's Cap-and-Invest Section Manager. Derek leads the design, management, and delivery of the state’s multibillion-dollar carbon market under the Cap-and-Invest Program.

The Climate Catalyst Speaker Series meets the fourth Tuesday from January through October at the Soul Cafe. The event is free and open to the public. Snacks are provided. Please bring your own nonalcoholic beverage. Donations to TCAT are gratefully accepted.

Did you know heat is the number 1 weather-related killer in the US and the World? We are not prepared in the Pacific NW. Come learn the symptoms of heat illness and how to prevent it. Gas prices getting you down? Join TCAT's EV Action Group for an EV Vehicle Show. Tomorrow: April 9th from 10:30 to 2 at the parking lot across from St. Martin's Pavilion - 5300 Pacific Avenue. Used EVs are now the same price as used gas guzzlers. Save $ and the environment when you own an EV. There will be EV owners on-hand to answer your questions. The EV Show is conjunction with the Thurston Chamber's Green Business Awards.

This week Governor Ferguson signed a law to improve the state’s aging power grid. Establishing a statewide Transmission Authority will accelerate the buildout of new transmission lines. That means future-proofing our power grid, connecting more clean energy projects, and delivering clean, locally-sourced, affordable energy to Washington’s homes and businesses. Thanks to our many partners and allies who’ve worked on this process for the past several legislative sessions and got it across the finish line this year.
