For everyone who's been running with us a while: what did you think a group run would be like before your first one? And what was it actually like? 👀

We're asking because somebody reading this has driven past Marathon Park on a Monday, seen a group of people stretching, and kept driving.

Your answer might be the thing that gets them out of the car.

Comment below. 🍂

Expectation vs reality: your first group run. 😅

Expectation: Everyone in matching gear. Total silence. Someone asks your marathon PR in the parking lot.
Reality: Somebody’s describing a raccoon situation in their yard. Two people are arguing about the best coffee in Olympia. Nobody has asked your pace and nobody is going to.

Expectation: You get dropped in the first half mile.
Reality: Somebody hangs back with you, and now you know them.

Come see for yourself. 6pm tonight, Marathon Park. 🍂

Race is done. Here’s how to get your normal running week back.

Start with one easy run. Short, slow, no watch pressure. That’s the whole first step — you’re not rebuilding anything, you’re just reopening the door.

Then go back to your usual days. Monday at Marathon Park. Thursday at Fleet Feet. Saturday at Briggs. Same times, same places, same people.

The routine is what got you to Sunday in the first place. Keep it, and saying yes to the next race is easy.

Tonight, 6pm, Marathon Park. Come get your first one in. 🍂

Tell us how Sunday went. 🏁

One sentence. Finish time optional, and honestly not the interesting part.

Did you hit a goal? Pass somebody at the end? Get smoked by your own kid at 8:45am? Walk part of it and finish anyway?

We want all of it below — especially from the first-timers.

And if you didn't race: what's the one thing that would get you on a start line next time? Genuinely asking. 👀

Tonight, 6pm, Marathon Park. Everyone welcome, sore legs included.
