18 Projects in 10 States Will Supercharge the U.S. Clean Energy Supply Chain and Open New Markets for Solar Technologies

05/08/2024

Check out our SOLAR 2024 Session Spotlight - Achieving Equity and Access in Solar Development and Policy, on Wednesday, May 22, from 3-4:15 pm ET at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and virtually!

Policies and programs that focus on access, equity, and affordability continue to be deployed, especially in historically marginalized, underinvested, and overburdened areas. With various case studies, this session investigates such efforts as part of the broader quest for an equitable and just transition to cleaner forms of energy.

We are honored to have the following speakers join us for this session:

Thomas Brelage, Graduate Researcher at Loyola University Chicago

Cliff Ho, Sr. Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories and Legislative Fellow in the Office of U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich of New Mexico

Nicole Burford, Senior Director of Marketing and Sustainability at Clean Energy Credit Union

Thomas Bartholomew, Associate Director for Policy and Compliance at the Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE)

Darren Don, Energy and Climate Research Manager at Acterra

Lauren Weston, Executive Director at Acterra

Olympia Community Solar is proud to announce the launch of Solarize 2024!

Solarize is an annual solar energy group purchasing program available now through July 4th. This year we're offering Solarize to residents of Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Island, Whatcom, Skagit, Walla Walla County, and the City of Kenmore! That means if you have friends or relatives in any of those counties, we're asking you to please share this unique opportunity!

Installing solar on your home can seem like a daunting process: from perceived costs, to technical details, to figuring out which installers to choose. That's why we organized a competitive bidding process to secure solar installers for each region. We vetted contractors for equipment quality, business practices, and negotiated special pricing with them. By partnering with trusted installers, local community organizations, and cities, we're continuing to make the process of going solar simple, secure, and accessible.

Special thanks to our community partners and installers who are helping us bring Solarize to new cities across the state!

Whether you’ve gotten a solar assessment before or not, we encourage you to look into this limited time offering or share this opportunity with your friends, family, and neighbors across all the counties Solarize 2024 is operating in!

To be part of Solarize, sign up for a free solar site assessment at Olysol.org/Solarize.

Instead of Google, I'm using Ecosia as my search engine because they dedicate 100% of their profits to the planet. We've almost planted 200 million trees! Give it a try:

This legislative session we have an incredible opportunity to
support a statewide Community Solar program! By
diversifying our energy sources and relying more on local
solar power, we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels
and provide our grid with much needed additional energy,
crucial to supporting 100% clean electricity. Please support
