But that’s not all 😳

The winner of this bike is also going to leave with a color matched, custom, Giro Sanction 2 full face helmet. Donated by Big Stump Bikes, and Custom painted by our one and only Jason Gainey this helmet might just be the belle of the ball.

FOCF will be meeting at the North Slope A-Line parking lot on Saturday 10/10 for a monthly work party on some of our favorite trails.

And we’re inviting you to join us. What do you need to bring?
Not much. Put on your grubbiest dungarees, fill your bottle, grab some pocket snacks, and we’ll cover the rest.

FOCF will be providing tools, lunch, and project leads to cover the scope of work. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome.

The scope of work for this party will include (but not be limited too) Stormy, Bow Finger, and Chile Time. We will be clearing drains, repairing tread, rebuilding berms, and if we have enough bodies then we will tackle a larger jump project.

There will be a raffle for all attendees with prizes provided by local partners.

Trails in Capitol Forest don’t grow on trees, in-fact, it’s almost entirely through volunteer work parties like this that North Slope exists in any form. This is YOUR opportunity to leave your mark on our community, and contribute to the trails you love so much.

Tomorrow is the day!

We’re drawing the winner for this bespoke Cannondale Bicycles Bad Habit tomorrow at 7pm at Three Magnets Brewing Co..

Not only should you plan on being there (party starts at 5pm) but this also means that you have just a little over 24 hours to lock in your tickets, and secure your chance to win this dream bike.

As you may know, the NorthSlope and Fall Creek trail networks are volunteer maintained by Friends of Capitol Forest and our partners and it’s through fundraisers like this one that we generate the the resources needed to keep our trail system operating.

On October 9th, join us at for an evening of celebration of all things Friends of Capitol Forest.

We’ll be there telling trail tails, drinking Little Larch L***r, eating Aussie pies (looking at you .Olympia), and taking in the last vestiges of summer before we re-enter our favorite time of the year: DIG SEASON.

On top of that, we will be raffling off our Bad Habit to one lucky winner.

Remember, 100% of proceeds go straight back to our trails, so if you haven’t gotten your hands on some tickets, you still have time.

FYI M&M and McKenny riders:

Ground hives have been reported on the final climb on McKenny up to M&M and near the mid point on M&M trail.

Riders are reporting being swarmed and stung.

May be best to avoid these trails for the time being.

This one has been a long time coming!

The City of Olympia has final approval to move forward with the bike park and groundbreaking is expected this year.

FOCF will help where we can during the build, which will be contracted out, and then we expect to play a key role in maintaining the trails once they’re built.

A bike park in Olympia is a huge opportunity for local riders, kids, families, newer riders, and the whole South Sound trail community.

It also means FOCF’s responsibilities are growing. If you’re excited about the Marj Yung bike park, become a member and help us build the foundation to support it.
