4 seats available for a guided fishing trip with Miller's Sportfishing.

MUST HAVE LICENSE AND PUNCHCARD

Fishing will be standing and casting, all gear is provided and the trip is FREE.

Open to all vets and active duty military (proof of service will be verified) and you must have/obtain a valid fishing license.

It’s 100% FREE! JOIN US FOR A GREAT DAY OF MENTAL HEALTH!

7 veterans or active duty
Beginners Fishing Rod class (spinning rod) All materials and instructions included
Disabled combat veterans are the instructors
Rod dries overnight and pick up is as agreed upon in class.

WHEN: MONDAY OCT 12th FEDERAL HOLIDAY, 8am-4pm-ish you remain there for the duration of class.
WHERE: Lacey, Washington
We will pick attendees at random and notify them by OCT 5TH around 1700-1900.
Please check back and reply if chosen, or you will get passed over. You have 24 hours from name selection to contact us or we go to the next person.
Please communicate any, questions, issues or problems, thank you.
You have to complete a pre and post class su***de prevention survey for attendance in this class.
Before applying, please make sure you have cleared the dates with work, school and your spouse/family. Only 7 spots are available, so please don’t take a spot unless you know you can attend.
By submitting an application, you consent to voice, video and photo release for promotion of the event.

Clarification of how we operate.
How we work with those selected for fishing trips and classes.

We tell you, you have been selected or to PM OFOH. This means to reach out thru Facebook Messenger and contact us. Do not comment back on FB.
Then we will ask for proof of service, SSN redacted copy of DD214, pic of ID card, something that shows you served or are still serving.
Once we get that, we will send you a mental health survey for you to complete. Once it is done, we provide the details of the trip/class.
Once the event is done, we send you a post event survey.
The surveys are part of our su***de prevention grant and we get partial reimbursement for all our trips/classes through Mar 2027.

Labor Day is a time to recognize the hard work and service that strengthen our communities.

At Outdoors for Our Heroes, we’re grateful for the veterans, volunteers, supporters, and community partners who continue to give their time and energy to others.

We hope everyone has a safe Labor Day and an opportunity to spend some time outdoors.
