On May 21, 2015, Olympia Police Officer Ryan Donald shot brothers André Thompson and Bryson Chaplin multiple times as they were walking home. Officer Donald claimed they attacked him. Despite extensive evidence to the contrary, André and Bryson were both charged and convicted of assaulting a police officer, and spent time incarcerated. Both André and Bryson have permanent disabilities as a result of that night, including a bullet lodged in Bryson’s spine. Officer Donald has never faced any repercussions.
