Western Wildlife Outreach Teaching coexistence through science, story, and stewardship.

Western Wildlife Outreach is a Washington state-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2002, dedicated to advancing an accurate understanding of large carnivores across the Pacific Northwest. We fulfill our mission through community outreach events, hands-on field-based presentations, and science-based educational resources about living with black bears, grizzly bears, gray wolves, and cougars.

Western Wildlife Outreach will be there! Stop by our table and pick up a free coloring page.

Get creative at "Creatures of the Pacific Northwest," a sidewalk celebration of chalk art and Cascadia wildlife!

Hosted by and supported by the Olympia Downtown Alliance, this playful event invites young artists to transform the sidewalk into a vibrant outdoor gallery. Grab some chalk, celebrate our local critters, and join us for a day of community spirit and summer fun. ☀️😎

RAFFLE PRIZES 🎟️ Finish your masterpiece and enter to win! Artists aged 6 to 18 who complete their chalk art can enter to win one of three massive prize baskets. Each one is packed with goodies and gift certificates from local, Olympia businesses!

WOW! Cougar mom and kittens in Minnesota. The first time in nearly 100 years that reproduction has been documented there according to Minnesota's DNR.

"...Cougars were native to Minnesota before becoming locally extinct. There hasn’t been evidence of reproduction for more than 100 years in the eastern Midwest (east of the Dakotas and Nebraska) until recent reports from Michigan and now Minnesota..." https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/news/2026/04/30/evidence-reproducing-cougar-population-minnesota #:~:text=Cougars
