Thanks to all the volunteers who are making January Free Skool happen!

Time to Stretch is expanding every week and we are now looking for a larger space to use for this 1 1/2 hour once a week class. If you have any information regarding new possibilities, please email us on Facebook or email [email protected]!

ALSO we are looking for volunteers teachers for February. If you have ever thought of teaching a class, now is the time! Email us with your class proposal and let's make it happen!

OLYMPIA FREE SKOOL JANUARY 2014 SCHEDULE

TUESDAYS
*Time to Stretch (with Candice)
5:00 – 6:30 pm every week. For all age groups, fitness levels, and genders. Available for those new to yoga who are looking for some fun and easy stretching exercises. This is a beginner level stretching class, but anyone is welcome! Bring a yoga mat if you have one.

WEDNESDAYS
*Beginning French (with Elizabeth)
4:30 – 5:30 pm every week. For anyone who wants to learn some basic French!

*Le Groupe de Conversation Français
5:30 – 6:30 pm chaque semaine. Les étudiants debutants, intermédiaires, ou avancés, je vous invite pour practiquer le français avec moi. Joignez- vous à moi pour discusser quelque chose! Le grammaire, la traduction, la poésie, le monde... tous sont possibles!

THURSDAYS
*Chess Meetup (with David)
12 – 2 pm every week. Chess games for all skill levels. We have the boards and timers - let's play!

*Radio 101 (with Matt)
4 – 6 pm Offered on 1/16 and 1/30. In this class we will explore the basics of community media and community radio.

*Cooking with Constraints (with AnnaLisa)
5 – 7 pm every week. Let's make food! Vegan, gluten free, raw and ritual foods (with food procured from the Thurston County Food Bank) as well as what we can do without an oven or stove. Food donations from class attendees are also very welcome!

FRIDAYS
*We Are The Media: Conversations on Media Literacy & Media Justice (with Matt)
4 – 6 pm Offered only on 1/24. We will explore the role a truly independent media (or, 4th estate) can play in a vibrant democracy and what media consolidation and deregulation has meant for community media.

(Unless otherwise noted all classes are held at Media Island International 816 Adams St.)

Two new classes have been scheduled for the last weeks of 2013! Both will be held at Media Island International.

Le Groupe de Conversation Français on Saturday, December 28 from 12 pm to 2 pm. For anyone who ever took a French class and wants to practice speaking. Ensemble c'est presque toujours meillure que seul. Joignez-vous à moi pour discusser quelque chose!

Manifestation Meditations for the New Year on Tuesday, January 31 from 1pm to 4pm. Come at any time to meditate on your intentions for the new year. Hang out with crystals and re-align your energy in my hollow wooden pyramid.
