There are 12 states right now that use RCV in their presidential primaries and none of them were invited to the room where the DNC’s rules committee wrote and voted on adding language that would ban their ability to use RCV. The national Democratic Party should not be getting in the way of the nation’s fastest growing election reform. They should not be getting in the way of us building a better democracy.

STOP THE DNC FROM BANNING RANKED CHOICE VOTING (RCV)🚨

DNC is voting on August 15th to pass new rules that would ban states from using Ranked Choice Voting in their presidential nomination process. ‼️ Check the links in our bio to easily contact DNC delegates and sign the petition to stop this ban. We need democracy reform NOW ‼️

We don’t stand for the banning of democracy reform at any level, whether it be in the nomination process, primaries, or more. Washington State especially would benefit from using Ranked Choice Voting considering our state wasted THE MOST ballots in the 2020 presidential race due to candidate dropouts and voters not having a backup as they would have with RCV. RCV provides winners that get a true majority of the vote and increases turnout. It is the fastest growing electoral reform for a reason, and we must prevent the DNC from getting in the way of a better democracy.

This past June, their rules committee added language ahead of the 2028 presidential election that would effectively BAN states from using Ranked Choice Voting for their presidential nomination process. Why is the Democratic Party checking off tasks from Project 2025’s voter suppression agenda? Take action now and demand they get out the way of the fastest growing electoral reform movement in the country.

Seattle voters have used bullet voting their primary elections for the last time. In 2027, we will continue Seattle’s proud legacy of making democracy more representative and impactful. At this event you can:

- Hear from Mayor Wilson, King County Elections Director Julie Wise, and other democracy champions
- Nibble on heavy apps, and
- Mingle with democracy lovers from all over Seattle and beyond.

Want a little more time with Mayor Wilson? If you complete two or more volunteer shifts from different events OR contribute $150, you have the opportunity to meet with Mayor Wilson before the event.
