Leadership Thurston County

Leadership Thurston County Leadership Thurston County develops informed, skilled and committed civic leaders. The program begins in September and ends in June.

LTC participants come from a variety of backgrounds reflecting the diversity of Thurston County. They share a commitment to improving our community and a desire to assume meaningful leadership roles. The year includes opening and closing retreats, as well as monthly day-long sessions called Challenge Days. There is a graduation celebration for graduates in June at the end of the program. Challenge

Days focus on a different topic each month, including education, business and economic development, government, law and justice, health and human services, arts and culture, and the environment. Topics are explored through meetings with local leaders, site visits, and group and individual activities. The experience-based curriculum emphasizes community stewardship and the interrelationships of issues affecting the South Sound.
