A New Strategic Framework. A Clearer Path Forward.

As we look toward the future of physical therapy in Washington, APTA Washington is taking a bold, focused approach to where we go next.

To help shape our direction, the Board of Directors used APTA’s new strategic framework as a blueprint, building on its vision while identifying the priorities and opportunities most important to our members, our profession, and the communities we serve.

Our Strategic Priorities

🔹 Advancing Our Profession
Create and expand economic opportunities for PTs and PTAs—strengthening the profession and its ability to make a greater impact.

🔹 Empowering Our Members
Deliver a high-impact member experience that provides value, connection, and opportunities for every career stage.

🔹 Evolving Our Practice
Accelerate innovation and transformation in practice models and services to better meet the changing needs of society and our profession.

This framework is more than a plan—it is a roadmap for action. It will help us focus our resources, align our efforts, and work together to build a stronger future for physical therapy in Washington.

Our future is evolving. Our profession is advancing. And we’re moving forward together.

Introducing Our New Values

As part of the Board of Directors’ new strategic framework, APTA Washington has identified three core values to guide how we serve our members, our profession, and our communities.

Our Values
🔹 Community — We build meaningful connections and foster a strong, inclusive physical therapy community.
🔹 Advocacy — We use our collective voice to advance the profession, influence change, and improve access to physical therapy.
🔹 Education — We support lifelong learning, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.

These values will help shape how we work, how we make decisions, and how we move forward together into the next 100 years.

Community. Advocacy. Education.

A New Vision for APTA Washington

As part of the Board of Directors’ new strategic framework, APTA Washington has also adopted a new vision for the future of our profession and our community.

Our New Vision
Physical therapy is recognized, valued, and accessible to all.

Our previous vision focused on positioning physical therapy as the best choice for optimizing movement and improving the human experience.

Our new vision expands that focus. We envision a future where everyone recognizes the value of physical therapy, has access to its benefits, and sees physical therapy as an essential part of health and well-being.

This vision will help guide our work as we look toward the next 100 years of physical therapy in Washington.

Recognized. Valued. Accessible.
