Fall is in the air, ever so slightly - chinook in the river, school on the horizon and the 37th Annual Watershed Festival, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. The Nisqually Indian Tribe, as host, closed out the night with their songs and dances and as the dawn of Thursday, Aug. 6 appeared, they gifted those in attendance and transfered the totem stick signifying host duties to Saxman for 2027 in Alaska.

A joyous week of Potlatching and enjoying visiting, songs and dances ended at dawn on Aug. 6 with Nisqually, as host, finishing their protocol and gifting all those in attendance and passing the host stick to Saxman for 2027. Many more to come.
