On Tuesday, May 5th, Gentlemen's Quartet will be at the Olney Central College theatre for our last Southeastern Illinois Concert of the season. This is the group that had to cancel during our snowstorm in January and they have graciously rescheduled. Members, your January tickets are still good for this concert.
We will be announcing our 2026-27 season artists at this concert and any new members that join for the new season are welcome to attend this concert on us.
GQ (Gentlemen’s Quartet) is a modern, elegant take on some of the most famous music ever written, fusing together multiple genres in a perfect symphony of sophistication, virtuosity, and humor. Comprised of cello/mandocello, electric guitar/bass, percussion, piano and violin, with special appearances by female vocalist Erin Shields, their concerts offer audiences a new, often deeper, way of listening to music. Featuring a multitude of musical genres, their repertoire includes selections like “Adagio,” “New York ‘States’ of Mind,” “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Rhapsody Overload,” and much more!

On September 19, 2025 at 7:00 pm in the Olney Central College Theatre, you will have the chance to see and hear a wonderful group of siblings that will blow your mind.

As with all forces of nature, the music and energy created by THE NEXT GENERATION LEAHY simply cannot be contained; the drive to create music is powerful within each of the Leahy children. Belying their young ages, these siblings are all accomplished multi-instrumentalists whose live performances are filled with high-energy, mesmerizing music that goes hand-in-hand with the famous Leahy name. Featuring fiddle, cello, French accordion, vocals, piano, guitar, bass, and, of course, the iconic Leahy-style French-Canadian step-dancing, this group lights up every stage they perform on, and inspire future generations of performers to pursue their dreams!

Additionally, the Olney Arts Council will sponsor this same group for an afternoon concert for elementary school children.

It's time for the second half of our Southeastern IL Concert season. On Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 in the OCC theatre, you will be treated to a Sounds of Silence Tribute. Johnny Phillips and Steven Delopoulos, original members of the award-winning group, Burlap to Cashmere will take you on a journey back to the early 1970s when lyrics and melody meant something more. Their show features music of Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, John Denver, Harry Chapin, Cat Stevens, Don McLain and more.

First concert of the 2023-24 season is coming up on October 18, 2023 at 7:00 at the OCC Theatre. Featured artist is David Shannon, often referred to as Ireland's greatest showman. He has had leading roles in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, LES MISERABLES and SWEENEY TODD as well as being an original cast member of the London Company production of COME FROM AWAY. David has powerful vocals and also incorporates the violin, Irish bodhran and multi-media into his concerts. His repertoire includes an exciting mix of classic Irish songs and selections from his starring roles on Broadway and London's West End. Season tickets are $60/adult and $20/student for 4 amazing shows. Membership drive is still going on for the 2023-24 season. Just $60 buys you a season ticket to 4 wonderful concerts. $125 buys you a "family membership" for either 2 parents and unlimited children or two grandparents and unlimited grandchildren.

10/18/23 - Ireland's Greatest Showman, David Shannon has had leading roles in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, LES MISERABLES and SWEENEY TODD. His repertoire is an exciting mix of classic Irish songs and selections from his starring roles on Broadway and London's West End.

11/6/23 - The Suits are four gentlemen, four genres, four decades from the 50's to the 80's. Smooth choreography and tight harmonies will bring you a night to remember and will have you dancing in your seats.

3/5/24 - Sounds of Silence is a tribute tour with a throwback to the early 70's when songs from Simon and Garfunkel and other artists from that era sang lyrics and melody that had great meaning. Steven Delopulous and Johnny Phillips of the award-winning band, BURLAP TO CASHMIRE perform all your old favorites.

4/18/24 - The Rice Brothers are full of energy as they both play piano and cello. They feature a blend of Classical, Gospel, Jazz, Ragtime and Boogie-Woogie music. Classical artists are expected to have a bit of formality, right? But audiences are amazed by their casual and friendly attitude while giving performances that only two consummate artists can give and have given at places like Carnegie Hall.

Get ready to experience superb entertainment when Judy Carmichael comes to the OCC theatre at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Judy is a Grammy-nominated, singer, song writer, jazz pianist who has toured the world. You might recognize her from a 20+years stint on NPR where she hosts a show and podcast about her love for jazz.
