Sons of the American Legion Squadron 186

The mission of the Sons of the American Legion is to support veterans and their families and the poli

psons of members of American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during World War I, World War II, The Korean War, the Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, and Persian Gulf, during the delimiting periods set forth in Article IV, Section 1, of the National Constitution of the American Legion or who died subsequent to their honorable discharge from such service, shall be eligible for membership in the "Sons of The American Legion". There shall be no form or class of membership except an active membership. Simply put, if your father, grandfather, or even an uncle has served, you are eligible to become a member. Currently the area Legion Posts are dwindling in membership, and we believe that a local Sons of the American Legion chapter can help keep these posts running strong. If you know of anyone else that is eligible, and may be interested in joining, please invite them to contact us. We would like to get as many members as possible involved in this group. Legion members are dually eligible for both Legion membership and Sons of the American Legion membership, and all Legion members are encouraged to join.

Our Story

Sons of the American Legion Squadron 186 was founded to serve the Renville County area. Virtually everything that involves the Sons could be grouped under three areas: 1) support for veterans and their families, 2) promoting patriotism and Americanism and 3) promoting programs which benefit the youth of our country.
