Carter Bremseth Memorial Foundation

Carter Bremseth Memorial Foundation Carter Bremseth died by su***de in 2021. He will be forever missed by those who loved him - his family, friends, and community.

The mission of CBMF is to support families who have lost a child/sibling to su***de, support kids thru all types of grief, and provide education about su***de, sextortion, mental health, & digital wellness. Carter was passionate about the activities he loved - Golf, Robotics, and being a good friend to those who needed it. In his memory, we have created a foundation to continue his purpose, and to

keep his memory alive. Money raised from our golf tournament will support the BOLD Golf Boosters, the BOLD Robotics program, provide yearly scholarships to a BOLD Senior, and St. Mary’s Catholic School student; and support families affected by su***de. According to a Facebook post from a noted grief expert, David Kessler, “For every person lost to su***de, at least 9 family members are left behind in deep grief” (2022). Our mission is to support parents who have lost a child to su***de. This could be through: funeral expenses, mental health and/or grief support, care packages for siblings, family meals, etc. We have learned very quickly how difficult, heartbreaking and exhausting this journey is. We strive to be a beacon of hope for other parents. If you would like to make a donation to the Carter Bremseth Memorial Foundation, or are sending money to sponsor or participate in the golf tournament, payment can be sent via:

🚨 Parent Alert: Instagram is introducing a new feature called “Instants.”

Instagram head Adam Mosseri shared that Instagram is rolling out a new feature called Instants. It’s described as “a new way to share quick, unedited moments with friends that disappear after they’re seen,” with rollout expected this week.

Let’s break down what it is and what parents should know.

📱 What it is:
Instants is a disappearing-photo feature inside Instagram DMs.
You’ll find it in the DM tab. Look for a small stack of photos in the bottom right. Tap it to view and send quick photos to friends.

🧠 What this means for parents:
At first glance, this feels casual and harmless. Instagram frames it as a way to share more in-the-moment content.
But anytime a platform introduces disappearing or ephemeral messaging, it changes how kids think about sharing online.
We’ve seen this before with Snapchat, where disappearing content can create a false sense of privacy, even though posts can still be saved, screenshot, or reshared.
It can also lead to more impulsive sharing, because kids may underestimate how permanent digital content can actually be.

💬 What you can do:
This is a good moment to talk with your kids about:
✔️ What is and isn’t okay to share
✔️ Why “disappearing” doesn’t mean “safe”
✔️ How anything sent online can still have a lasting footprint

Let’s help kids build an internal filter before exposure happens.
