Friends of Carter Caves The Friends of Carter Caves was organized in 2008, and is dedicated to helping advance the goals of Carter Caves State Park.

Friends of Carter Caves is made up of people who share a common bond: a deep interest in Carter Caves State Park and the desire to assist Park management in accomlishing their goals. Friends of Carter Caves meets with the Park manager and his staff on a regular basis to prioritize how best to help meet the park's goals. We are constantly looking for projects to assist the park with, and we invite

your participation as a member of our group. Please consider joining our group, or making a donation to further the cause of the Friends of Carter Caves!

A big THANK YOU to the Rammel Family of St. Marys, Ohio, for restoring a section of boardwalk on the Three Bridges Trail! 👏🌲 Last month, vandals threw the boardwalk over a cliff.

While enjoying their family vacation at Carter Caves State Park, the Rammels took time out of their trip to help the trails. ⚒️

😞 While the Carter Caves Volunteer Trail Crew was hard at work on one section of the Three Bridges Trail, vandals were busy on another. Someone tore out a section of the bog bridge we built in 2022 and tossed it down the hillside. Funded by Friends of Carter Caves ❤️, and built by volunteers 🙌, this walkway was installed to keep hikers out of a muddy, slippery area beside a cliff and to protect the trail from further damage. 💪🥾

When it comes to improving trails, nothing tells the story better than a before-and-after photo. 📸 Our volunteer trail crew rehabilitated this badly eroded, steep section of the Three Bridges Trail at Carter Caves State Resort Park. What makes this accomplishment even more impressive is that much of the work was completed by volunteers with little or no prior trail maintenance experience.👏🥾🌲

What a productive weekend on the trails at Carter Caves State Resort Park! 🌲🛠️ Our trail crew tackled projects on the Three Bridges and Rockhouse Trails, focusing on rehabilitating a severely eroded, steep section that needed some serious attention. 💪 17 volunteers from 4 states-the results speak for themselves—we received many compliments from park visitors on the improvements! 🙌 Thank you to our hardworking crew for a truly successful outing. 🌟 Join us next time! 📅

It is with great pleasure that the Friends of Carter Caves announce the winners of the Winter Adventure Weekend Smoky Lake Plunge (home edition)! 🥶 🥶 🥶

These brave souls raised funds for the Friends of Carter Caves nonprofit organization and were crazy enough to jump into freezing cold water in January!! 🤪 🤪 🤪
